6 weeks old
Yesterday our sweet little man was 6 weeks old!! The time is just flying by...just like everyone says it will! Henry is doing so great! He has figured out how to smile and is able to recognize mommy and daddy! He greets mommy every morning with that sweet little grin of his! Priceless!!
During the night we usually have been getting up once to feed, usually every 4-5 hours, however, I was having to literally wake him up because he wasnt wanting to wake up on his own. At those 3 AM feedings, he wasn't really eating much, which left me feeling bad for even waking him in the first place. After speaking to a friend about her lil one, I decided to let him sleep and just see how it goes. (I know most of you probably did that, but his pediatrician had previously told me to feed him every 5 hours). Well... we are night 5 of Henry sleeping a full 8 hours without even so much as a grunt! (He is a major grunter) He is such a great baby and we couldn't be more excited!! I am taking advantage of this time that he is sleeping and getting much needed rest myself! The only downfall to mommy is battling mastitis for the 2nd time around! Bring on the antibiotics!! =)

We're Back!!
It has been quite a while since my last post! Lets just say a lot has happened since then! =)
We are happy to welcome our sweet lil man Henry ! What a sweet baby he is and a true blessing!
This last Sunday Henry turned one month old!! One month already... are you kidding me? Everyone says that it goes by fast, and they were totally right.
I'll go back to the day I went into labor just as an update. I got up and had Matt get all the Christmas stuff down and I proceeded to get it all out and put up. I was determined to get it, including the tree up before he arrived. (It was November 26th). I worked all day getting the decorations just right and Matt ran out and picked us a beautiful tree. Once everything was up I made my way to the mall and to Target to finish up my Christmas shopping. I got home around 5-5:30 that night. Well... at about 8:30 the contractions started! I didn't really think much of it because I had been getting contractions the nights before at about the same time. They were about every 5-7 minutes apart at that point. I was able to finally go to sleep about 11ish, needless to say that didnt last long. I was up an hour later with the most intense lower abdominal contractions. I gave it about a couple of hours and told Matt that they just didn't feel right and that I needed to call the hospital. I talked with an OB nurse and she said to come on in to get checked, so off we went to the hospital at 2:30 AM. Thinking it would be a false alarm, we were told my contractions were about 2 minutes apart and that I was dilated to a 4. "Your staying here, no going home tonight"...Wait.... "does this mean we're going to have a baby tonight", Matt said. LOL. Indeed baby Henry was on his way!! =)
By 4:30 I had my epidural (which was totally amazing, the doctor did awesome!) and then I was able to get some rest! Matt ran home to grab a few things because we really werent quite prepared for him to arrive. The funny thing is Matt came home, picked up the house, took a shower, and made himself a nice breakfast. Good thing Henry didn't come while he was taking his time! =)
I think it was around 9:40ish that the doctor said I was an 8 and she went ahead broke my water. I remember talking to my dad right after and said it would probably still be a while. Well... a few minutes later I called the nurse to tell her I felt like I had to push and sure enough it was time! I only had to push for about 30 minutes and sweet Henry arrived!! It was the most precious moment...looking up at Matt and seeing his reaction was priceless. We did it, we brought into the world a beautiful healthy little boy!! Thank you Jesus!!
Postpartum was such a breeze for me. I really didn't have much pain or problems at all. The only problem I had was with breastfeeding...man thats a tough one! We had a really hard time with the whole breastfeeding thing. I ended up with mastitis and had to have antibiotics for 10 days. Once that cleared up things got a little better. But me and Henry are finally getting it figured out and things are going great in that department!
My mom was gracious enough to come stay with us for a whole month and that time is almost over! She leaves tomorrow and me and Henry and daddy are going to miss her soooo much. She has felt like she hasn't done much but she has done so much in my eyes! I have been able to get extra sleep and ever get a daily shower and now that she will be leaving, I'm probably going to be a walking zombie! =( In short, Granny has been such a blessing and we will miss her tremendously! Thank you Granny for being here and being the very best granny EVER!
Next post will be.... some very cute pictures of lil man!

36 weeks...
Yesterday marks 36 weeks into our pregnancy. In about a month we will be holding our sweet little boy... CRAZY!! =)
Today we took our maternity pictures with friend Christine Scott. We had so much fun and she took tons of pics. I can't wait to see how they turn out!! Baby N was going crazy most of the time, I think she was even able to catch one of his weird body positions in a pic! ha
The ones above are some that my sweet hubby took during a pose change!
Thanks Christine for the fun day!! =)
This last week started our once a week doctor check ups until he is born. Everything looked good. Cervix was completely closed with some thinning, so no signs of him coming early... at this point! My platelets finally are back to where they should be, which is great news! Now, we just keep on truckin for a few more weeks until he decides to make an appearance! We are praying lots for a healthy baby and safe delivery AND for our lil nephew Oliver that is due four days before us!! Can't wait to get the phone call letting us know he is on his way... Wont be long! =)

Pumpkin Fun
Last weekend, I was having a not so great morning, so Matt cheered me up by taking to Lattin's Cider Mill to pick some pumpkins! I really didn't think it would work, but I was feeling much better by the time we got home. Plus I got have a great backdrop for my belly bump pic. This is me and baby N at 35 weeks! =)

33 Weeks
This last Friday we officially turned 33 weeks! Yay, another week down...7 more to go!
Things are going well for me and baby N. I'm feeling pretty good for the most part... better than I have expected. We finally got our gym membership, so I have been able to get in there and do some cardio stuff. Yesterday we went and worked out and then when walking in the pool, felt so great!! I think baby boy enjoyed it too! I cannot wait to get him in that pool!!! I'm not sure how soon we can bring him, but we're going to as soon as we get the go ahead!! =)
I am super excited to report that my best friend Shea and my mom have purchased their flights to come up and see baby boy! I am thrilled to have them come visit us! This will be Shea's first time back since I moved here! (Couldn't be happier!) And my mom will be here for a whole month to help out with the baby and all things around the house! She is Super Granny! =)

32 Weeks
We are 32 weeks and counting! Things are going really well with the pregnancy. Baby N is moving around, stretching, flipping...whatever he can do do get a few jabs in. He is one active and strong lil guy!!! I am now feeling much more than flutters, more like actual feet and elbows to the ribs! We just had our doctors appt, now going every 2 weeks, and every looked fine. My anemia and platelets are stable for now and baby is right where he should be!
Things around here are all baby baby baby. I wake up thinking about the list of things I need to get done. And since Matt is away this weekend, I have been working on the nursery head on! In the hopes of getting it finished pretty soon!!! Well, needless to say, I woke up at 4:30 to go to the bathroom....and there I was, wide awake!! "so many things to do"....
Guess I'll hit it hard again today on that nursery!! =)
Baby Shower
I am so sad I'm just now posting about our baby shower. I was given a shower in Oklahoma back in mid September by some amazing friends! It was such a special day filled more blessings than we deserve! I was so overwhelmed by the amount of family and friends that were able to attend AND by how much love they showed our lil man!! It truly was a wonderful day for me!! Thank you sweet friends for putting it together!!

Baby Bump- 28 Weeks
Friday began week 28... 3rd Trimester!!! Yikes....this is going by really fast!
It has been quite busy in the Nelson house! We went to our doctor appt and the baby looks great. His kidney's were "unremarkable", which in radiology terms means they look perfect!! Plus I passed my glucose test, which is such a relief for me. I was really worried about that for some reason.
We have purchased most of the furniture for the nursery now, the chair has arrived and now we just need to work on refinishing the dresser! =) This makes me super excited!!!
On another note, today I was completely surprised and humbled by the love and kindness of one of Matt's coworkers, also a woman that does Arbonne with me. She surprised me with a baby shower at Matt's office... totally unexpected! I was so overwhelmed, it took so much for me to stop crying! lol She had cake, homemade rice and enchiladas, balloons, gifts and friends! So so sweet!! This little guy is already so loved and blessed... I just can't get over it.
Now I'm looking forward to my trip home to Oklahoma to have a shower with friends and family! Can't wait to see everyone!!!

27 Weeks
27 Weeks
Another week has passed! This week has been busy! We had another ultrasound to check
on lil man's kidney and everything looked great! They said it looked really good! I also
took my glucose tolerance test, no word yet on the results but fingers are crossed that I don't
have gestational diabetes!
We also got a few items for the nursery this week...which I'm super excited about! We ordered the glider and it should be in later next week. Plus we found an awesome vintage dresser on craigslist that we're going to refinish!! I cannot WAIT to see the outcome of that piece! Pictures to come in the future.
We are feeling very blessed and humbled by the sweet gifts our lil man is receiving! He is already so spoiled! Grandma Janet got him his bedding and grandpa got him his BOB! Holy smokes, we are super excited!! =)
One more week left in the 2nd trimester...this is going sooo fast!!!

Baby Bump- 26 weeks
We're now at 26 weeks... and growing!
Baby boy is now just under 1 and 1/2 pounds and is moving around like crazy!
He especially likes to kick around when I lay down to go to bed!! I call him my lil stinker because
as soon as I try and let Matt feel him, he stops!! lol
I don't think I will track my weight gain on my blog, while I know it's good to be growing, it's still
a little hard at times. =) But to date, this second trimester has been going really well. The last couple of weeks have been a little worse, dealing with severe constipation, and with the additional growth. All in all, me and baby are doing well and I feel very blessed for a healthy pregnany.
I go in for another ultrasound next week to check on baby N's kidney. One of his kidney's has a dilated ureter as it comes from the kidney so they want to keep an eye on it and makes sure it doesn't continue to grow. This is a problem that happens often with little boys and our doctor isn't too concerned about it but still wants to watch it. I'm not too worried just yet, just praying for a healthy baby when we go in. I also have to do my glucose test....yikes!!! Praying for not having gestational diabetes!!!

Lazy Bones
Pregnancy has made me quite the lazy bones lately! Well...actually, this has been our busiest summer yet, but once we are home, all I do is want to lay around! Sound familiar to any other preggo woman??
I have been wanting to get his blog up and going every since we told everyone we were expecting...oops...that obviously did not happen!! Today is the day that it happens...at 25 weeks preggo =). I really want our families in OK and TX to be apart of this pregnancy and watch this lil guy grow!! And man is he growing...yes it's a BOY!! A sweet little boy!! We are so excited, words cannot describe it! So take a look at the blog if you want and watch the amusing pictures of this future mommy growing...and growing...and growing! =)
Some things we have been up to this summer....hikes,meeting our new nephew David, trip to Canada, babymoon to Las Vegas, and some camping trips! Not too bad for the Nelson's!!
